We’re switching it up here again on our Two for Tuesdays, and instead of bringing you tips today, I’m bringing you two thought leaders in the legal industry to pay attention to!

Thought Leader One: Tim Corcoran, Corcoran Consulting Group

If you don’t already know Tim, you should. From his bio, we learn that he:

advises law firm leaders and in-house counsel on business process improvement, legal project management, alternative fees and business development. He also advises legal technology vendors and service providers on market strategy and sales force readiness. The essence of his consulting practice is to help law firms, in-house counsel and legal vendors profit in a changing marketplace."

Tim regularly speaks, writes, counsels and advises on some thought-provoking topics that surround some of the most cutting-edge ideas in our industry – ideas that make many uncomfortable, but are necessary conversations to have in today’s marketplace.

He never hesitates to say what he thinks, and his years of experience, both in the legal industry and as a business executive, give him the on-the-ground credibility necessary to understand and effectively communicate the legal and business forces that impact law firms today.

In addition to his consulting work, he’s currently serving as the Legal Marketing Association’s President for 2014, with some short and long-term goals for the organization that have many very excited.

There are only a handful of blogs for which I will drop everything when a new post is published, and Tim’s is one of them. Run, do not walk, to connect and listen to Tim today:

Thought Leader Two: Heather Morse, Barger & Wolen

Heather Morse is another brilliant mind that the legal market is lucky to have access to. Heather is not afraid to ask the difficult questions, challenge us all to be better at our jobs and serve our attorneys in the best ways we know how, and to constantly work at innovating and expanding ourselves, our professional lives, and the legal marketing industry as a whole.

Most recently, Heather has become known for her presentations and discussions on generational marketing – something most of us had never considered. With four generations currently in the workplace, each of us comes to the table with different preferences and prejudices, and Heather, along with her co-presenter and bonus thought leader, Jonathan Fitzgarrald of Greenfield Glusker, aims to walk us through those to help us be better marketers and firm leaders – and to help our attorneys learn how to effectively market to different generations of clients.

Heather’s is another blog that I will always drop everything to read, and between that, and the engaging and provocative conversations she initiates and engages in within her Legal Marketers Extraordinaire Facebook group, I learn more and grow every day as a legal marketer.

So I urge you to connect with Heather today as well!
